This is the time of year in Minnesota when the weather can't decide what it wants to be. Will it be warm today? Will it be freezing cold? Pouring rain? Snow? Sunny? All of the above in one day? It's a funny moment in the year when we are looking towards the new season, but we aren't quite there yet. It reminds me of the season I'm in right now, looking forward but not there yet. Today marks the exact one month mark until I leave for Lausanne. I certainly am excitedly anticipating launching to serve there, but also am focused on the work I have here and the things I need to do before I leave. These past few weeks and the upcoming weeks are sure to be filled with highs and lows, excitement and nervousness and everything in between, a little bit like the Minnesota weather.
On the days that are challenging, I am reminded that walking with God brings peace. It's certainly a journey of trust to jump into this opportunity to serve and trust Him totally to provide financially, but I know that God is faithful. These verses remind me of how no matter what I know I can have joy, hope, and peace when I walk through life with God.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
