Here at YWAM Lausanne they want to expand the campus, and add additional buildings. Last week we were able to see the proposed site plans, 3D images, and walk around the area they will develop. One unique thing they have to do here in Switzerland is put up poles indicating the building footprint, height, shape, and size (essentially the outlines) to allow neighbors to raise concerns, especially if it will have an affect on their view. It's a very smart idea, as it helps people visualize what it will look like, the angle of the roof line, and how it will fit on the site. It looks almost like a 'ghost building' and if you stand and look at it awhile you can begin to draw the building in your mind. The French term I found for it is 'des gabarits', and the German term is 'Aussteckung'.
